Steam’s runaway success story, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is getting a new map before it launches on Xbox One.

While still without a release date, the new PUGB desert map looks set to at least be ready for when the console version of the game arrives.

Battlegrounds on Xbox One has been confirmed as launching in 2017, albeit very close to the end of the year.

A recent Steam update has been datamined and appears to have revealed the new desert Battlegrounds Bluehole Inc. have been working on.

The layout of the new PUBG map has now made its way online, showing a minimap view of where players will be exploring and battling for loot.

As you might expect, this new desert map doesn’t include any water but does appear to have several large urban areas.

Hard Luck looks set to become the biggest city in Battlegrounds, while other locations have also been revealed.

These include Murderland, Fracture and Dirtbag, which all sound pretty intriguing.

While fans will be eager to start plotting out their routes, it should be noted that this new PUGB map is still very much in development.

A lot of what can be seen in the new pictures will probably stay the same, however, there’s always the chance that Bluehole Inc could make some small but decisive changes in layout.

According to the latest information provided by Brendan ‘PlayerUnknown’ Greene, the new location will be about the same size as the game’s existing 8x8 km map, Erangel.

It was originally thought that the new desert terrain would rank at about 4x4 km, however, Greene has confirmed that things have changed since it was first announced.

The NBA 2K18 early release date was set for September 15 but only for those who pre-order the game.

Anyone who does, gets the official Early Tip-Off Edition, which grants early access and is available on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Everyone else has to wait until September 19, although there’s also the option of downloading the NBA 2K18 Prelude demo.

The download size is around 11.76 GB and offers a taste of what's to come later this week.

“Fans can get an early taste of NBA 2K18 with this free, downloadable experience that begins their journey into The Neighborhood, the groundbreaking new way to play NBA 2K,” the official prelude description explains.

“The Neighborhood brings together the most loved elements of NBA 2K together into a shared world for players to truly experience the life of an NBA athlete, both on and off the court.”
